The award is a major achievement, especially since ECA only opened the gates to members on April 11th this year. The committee submitted the group’s entry to the county wide competition in June. Judging for the competition took place in July and August with the winners being named at a packed ceremony at Ferrycarrig Hotel last night. Master of Ceremonies Alan McGuire announced the winners and a video clip showcasing the project was played.
ECA were congratulated and presented with a plaque by Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council Councillor George Lawlor. The group will also receive a cash prize which will help support further improvements and developments at the site.
The Enniscorthy Community Allotments committee would like to thank everyone who supported us over the last year. We look forward to building on the project and enabling more people from the town to get involved in future.
