  • Allotment plot (15 x 15 ft): €60 per year
  • Raised bed: €30 per year
  • Polytunnel access: €15 per year

Can I visit the allotments before joining?

Membership & Renewals

How long is my membership?

Membership runs from 1st of February to 31st of January each year. Contracts are renewed annually – they do not automatically roll over.

How do I renew my membership?

Members must apply each year and pay the membership fee by the due date. You’ll receive a reminder from the committee.

What happens if I don't renew on time?

Any member who has not paid the full subscription by 1st of March will cease to be a member. Unreserved plots will be reallocated to those on the waiting list.

Using the Allotments

What are the opening hours?

  • Summer: 9:00am – 9:00pm
  • Winter: 9:00am – 5:00pm

The allotments are closed during the hours of darkness. We’ll notify members of any changes by email, WhatsApp, or on the website.

What tools will I need?

To get started, you’ll need a spade, fork, trowel, hoe, rake, and watering can. For starting seedlings in the polytunnel, bring seed trays, compost, and small pots. There are some communal tools on site, but it’s best to have your own.

The tools’ shed is open from 10 am to 4 pm

Is there water on site?

Yes, we have water access on site for members to use.

Is parking available?

Yes, there is parking available at the allotments.

Can I bring children?

Children are very welcome. All children must remain under the supervision of the member and not cause harm, nuisance, or danger to themselves or other users.

Can I bring friends or family to help?

Yes. Only the member or a person authorised and/or accompanied by the member is allowed on site. It’s your responsibility to ensure guests follow the allotment rules and guidelines.

Rules & Policies

Can I keep animals on my plot?

No animals are allowed on the allotment site. This includes dogs, with the exception of guide dogs.

Can I put up a shed or greenhouse?

Due to the size of our plots, we do not permit sheds, greenhouses, or large structures. Arches for peas and beans may be permitted with consultation and approval from the committee.

Can I have a bonfire?

No bonfires are allowed on site.

Do you promote organic growing?

Yes. We encourage biodiversity, organic, and sustainable growing practices. We promote chemical-free methods across the site.

Growing Spaces

What's the difference between a plot, raised bed, and polytunnel space?

  • Allotment plot: A 15 x 15 ft growing space in the open air. Plots are not separated by boundaries, which encourages conversation between neighbours.
  • Raised bed: A more compact, wheelchair-accessible option – ideal for those who prefer a smaller, more manageable space.
  • Polytunnel space: Access to our shared polytunnel, which extends the growing season and allows you to grow more exotic fruit and vegetables.

Which option is right for me?

If you’re new to growing or prefer something manageable, a raised bed is a great starting point. If you want more space and are happy working outdoors, a full plot gives you room to experiment. Polytunnel access is perfect for extending your season or trying crops that need extra warmth.

Is the site wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Our raised beds are designed to be wheelchair accessible, and we’ve included paved pathways and seating areas throughout the site.

Community & Events

What is Catch Up Monday?

Catch Up Monday is a social gathering for members and the wider community. We meet every second Monday at 11am for tea, coffee, a chat, and activities like our book club and art sessions. Everyone is welcome.

Do you run workshops or training?

Yes! We host regular workshops and training sessions, including our Thyme Out Friday horticulture sessions with WWETB. Keep an eye on our News and Events pages for upcoming dates.

Do you work with schools and community groups?

We do. We partner with local schools, Camphill, St. John’s Day Care Centre, Men’s Shed, and other community groups. If your organisation would like to get involved, please get in touch.

How can I get involved beyond my plot?

There are plenty of ways to get involved – from volunteering at events to joining our Catch Up Monday group. We’re always looking for helping hands and fresh ideas. Just reach out!
