The Little Buds Group
Our Little Buds group was set up to bring all the little gardeners in our community together. In the group the kids actively participate in each activity and learn all about gardening in a fun environment, while making loads of memories and lifelong friends.
We aim to have an activity running fortnightly for them all. This year our group is after expanding from 12 kids to 33 kids which is absolutely amazing! All the organisers just love bringing them all together and seeing them developing a love of gardening while having loads of fun.
The Little Bud’s were assigned their own plot this year. They all had loads of fun painting their tyres and planting loads of different things in them, from flowers to strawberries and all different types of veg! They also built a bug hotel on their plot which was so much fun for them!
Just recently the kids made their very own scarecrow for the scarecrow competition the committee was holding. They did an absolutely fantastic job and went on to win 1st prize!!
Back in April all the little buds planted some pumpkins and gourds for Halloween! They then had a great time carving and painting the pumpkins at their Halloween party! The kids were amazed making their own magic potions!! The greenhouse/demonstration area was decorated beautifully for the party and it was an absolutely brilliant afternoon.
We had a lovely afternoon in the allotments for our little buds Christmas party!
Santa & Mrs Claus arrived in style to greet all of our very excited little buds! All the little buds then got to meet Santa and Mrs Claus in our greenhouse/demonstration area which was beautifully transformed into Santas grotto for the afternoon!!
All the little buds loved decorating a Christmas decoration to bring home for their tree and making some magic reindeer food to leave out for Rudolph and the other reindeers on Christmas Eve! Before we finished up then what was such a magical afternoon the little buds decorated a yummy gingerbread cookie!!
There was plenty of delicious baked goodies, tea and coffee for everyone to enjoy and it was truly a brilliant afternoon!!
