The first of our Herbalist courses kicked off on Thursday evening with the fabulous Silja Harms. We received such huge interest in this course we are now holding 3 courses each running for 4 weeks to accommodate as many people as possible.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the first evening of the course, there was great craic and banter among the group. They are all really looking forward to the coming weeks.
During the 3 courses everyone learned about the different forms of herbs and herbal extractions, how to identify different plants in the garden and the parts of the plants that are used. They also learned about honey extractions, oil extraction, infused oils, preparing salve and preparing oxymel using vinegar tincture and honey.
It was a very interesting course, a great introduction to herbalism.
