Learn Traditional Food Preservation Techniques in Enniscorthy
Join us for an eight-week series of hands-on food preservation workshops at Enniscorthy Community Allotments. Starting Friday, 29 May 2026, these practical evening sessions will guide you through the traditional skills of preserving food safely and confidently. From fermentation to pressure canning and beyond.
Places are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
What the Course Covers
Led by experienced tutor Annika Schulz, this course introduces you to both short-term and long-term food preservation methods. Each session is practical and hands-on, giving you the skills and confidence to preserve food at home.
Over the eight weeks, you will learn:
- Pressure canning: Safely preserving low-acid foods for long-term storage
- Waterbath canning: Ideal for jams, pickles, fruits, and high-acid foods
- Fermentation: Traditional techniques for vegetables, drinks, and more
- Tools and equipment: Demonstrations of everything you need to get started
By the end of the course, you will be able to safely and successfully carry out all of these methods in your own kitchen.
