We’re thrilled to share that WWETB (Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board) has sanctioned a Horticulturist for Community Education for 4 hours per week to support our members and local community right here at the Enniscorthy Community Allotments. 🌿
This means we’ll now be offering free horticulture workshops for our members and community groups — helping everyone learn more about sustainable gardening, food growing, and nature-based wellbeing.
🌻 Workshop Details
👩🌾 Group 1
🗓 Starts: Friday, 24th October
🕤 Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
👨🌾 Group 2
🗓 Starts: Friday, 28th November
🕤 Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
The two remaining weekly hours will be invested on community groups.
Each session will be guided by a qualified Horticulturist from WWETB, focusing on practical skills, hands-on learning, and community collaboration in the allotments. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, this is a wonderful opportunity to dig in, grow your confidence, and learn alongside others in a relaxed, supportive space. 🌸
🌿 Why This Matters
This initiative is a fantastic step forward for community learning in Enniscorthy.
By providing access to horticulture education, we’re nurturing not only plants — but also skills, friendships, and wellbeing across our local area.
A huge thank you to WWETB for their continued support and belief in the value of community education.
We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the allotments and get our hands in the soil together! 🌼
