Policies & Governance
At Enniscorthy Community Allotments, we’re proud to be a volunteer-led, non-profit organisation that puts community at the heart of everything we do. To ensure we operate fairly, transparently, and in the best interests of our members, we’ve developed a set of policies that guide how we work.
These policies reflect our commitment to inclusion, respect, and good governance. Whether you’re a plot holder, an associate member, a volunteer, or simply curious about how we run things, you’ll find the information you need below.
Our Policies
Data Protection & Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how we collect, store, use, and protect your personal information in line with GDPR and Ireland’s Data Protection Act 2018. It covers what data we hold, why we need it, how we keep it secure, and your rights as a member of our community.

Incident Report Policy
Safety and respect are fundamental to our allotments. If a health and safety issue or dispute arises on site, we have a clear process for reporting and addressing it. This policy includes our Incident Report Form and guidance on how incidents are handled by the committee.

Associate Membership Policy (Upcoming)
Not everyone needs a plot to be part of our community. Our Associate Membership offers a way to get involved without holding a tenancy. Whether you’d like to attend events, join workshops, volunteer on communal projects, or simply enjoy our shared spaces like the sensory walk and patio areas. This policy outlines eligibility, benefits, fees, and how to apply.
Bereavement Policy
When bereavement touches our community, we want to respond with compassion and care. This policy sets out how we acknowledge the loss of members, volunteers, and their immediate family, including our approach to condolences, floral tributes, and supporting those who need time and space to grieve.
Organisational AI Policy
As a volunteer-led organisation, we use AI tools to help manage communications and content efficiently, but always with human oversight and our authentic community voice at the centre. This policy outlines which tools we use, what we use them for, what we never use them for, and how we protect your data. It reflects our commitment to transparency about how we work.
