It was a beautiful morning in the allotments for the unveiling of our Wire Sculpture “Bean Together”.
The sculpture was completed over 10 Saturday mornings with artist Imogen Stafford. The course participants were Joan & Sean Fogarty, Annette Moran, Dervla Moran, Nessa Byrne, Jackie Breen, Mairead Dunne, Darren Masterson and Michael Devereux. They each made bugs found in the allotment from chicken wire and attached them to the sculpture. The sculpture consisted of a multicoloured genetic spiral at the base linking with a split bean pod, joining two leaves and a figure of two hands depicting sowing seeds. It was a great achievement to complete the team project and a very enjoyable experience for all.
The sculpture truly makes a wonderful addition to our beautiful sensory area.
