SUMMARY:🌸 Geosphere Mosaic Floor Celebration at Enniscorthy Community Allotments
DESCRIPTION:A Celebration of Art\, Nature\, and Community\nWe are delighted to celebrate the unveiling of the Geosphere Mosaic Floor & Butterflies at the Enniscorthy Community Allotments. This beautiful community art project\, designed and led by artist Helen McLean\, was created in collaboration with local allotment members and friends. \nThe mosaic\, made from thousands of tiles pieced together over many months\, now rests proudly in our allotments — a lasting symbol of creativity\, nature\, and community spirit. \n\nAbout the Mosaic Project\nThe design of the mosaic celebrates local flora and fauna\, with a flower at the centre in soft pinks and purples. At its heart\, a honeybee reminds us of the importance of pollinators to our world. Around the flower are images of the creatures that share our gardens — hedgehogs\, ladybirds\, butterflies\, dragonflies\, squirrels\, and birds — each representing the beauty of nature and the importance of protecting it. \nAlongside the main mosaic\, butterfly pieces were created with allotment members during workshops. These artworks symbolise both the fragility of nature and remembrance of loved ones who were part of our journey but are no longer with us. \nThis project has been a true act of community art: neighbours came together\, sharing skills\, laughter\, and stories as they assembled tiles into colour and meaning. \nAbout The Artist\nHelen McLean specialises in the creation of mosaic\, and stained glass art and paintings in the US\, Ireland\, and UK \nWhere to find Helen\n\nWebsite\nFacebook\nInstagram\nLinkedIn\n\n\nThe Celebration\n\nDate: Sunday\, 7th September 2025\nTime: 3:00 PM\nVenue: Enniscorthy Community Allotments\, Gort Na Gréine\, Enniscorthy\n\nThe event is officially launched by Cathaoirleach Enniscorthy Municipal District Barbara-Anne Murphy\, with thanks to all who contributed their time\, creativity\, and heart to the project. \n\nSpecial Thanks\nWe extend our gratitude to: \n\nAlasdair Joss\, for technical support\nWWETB and Creative Ireland\, for funding and support\nMichael Devereux for his support throughout the project\nAll the community members who came together to make this possible\n\n\nWhy It Matters\nThis mosaic is more than art. It is: \n\nA celebration of biodiversity in Wexford\nA reminder of the importance of community and connection\nA lasting tribute to those who have been part of our allotments’ story\n\nAs we walk across the Geosphere Mosaic Floor\, we carry with us the joy of creation\, the memory of friends\, and the hope for a thriving\, sustainable future.
